JOBSEEKERS looking for that all-important next role have a lucrative opportunity to consider – as a hard-working assistant to a Premier League footballer.

Sunderland striker Jermain Defoe is looking for an 'executive personal assistant' – and has a long and varied list of requirements for the successful candidate.

Based in London, the post-holder will earn up to £60,000 and work closely with the senior manager of Defoe Enterprise Ltd.

Among the long list of responsibilities for the busy PA – who will supposedly work from 9.30am to 5.30pm, but have to be on-call 24/7 – will be helping 'to create a global brand for the Jermain Defoe name'.

Other tasks include diary management, dealing with emails, arranging travel and accommodation, liaising with sponsors and travelling with the star and his family on business engagements.

The post-holder will organise all Defoe's 'personal needs', such as dry-cleaning, overseeing gardeners, interior designers, cleaners and staying on top of other everyday tasks.

Checking the star's home while he is away forms part of the job description, along with making sure everything is in place for his return – food in the fridge, plants watered and house clean.

The post-holder will also be responsible for booking social events, planning birthday celebrations and holidays for Defoe and his family.

They will also be expected to enhance the star's reputation by helping to grow his social media following, producing iPhone apps, securing positive media coverage for him and identifying sponsorship opportunities

Potential projects include working to grow Defoe's charity, helping create his own clothing line, fragrance or sports mentoring and management company.

The advert states: "You will be working for a high-profile individual within the sports industry, so must be very flexible, hands-on and be capable multi-tasking.

"Most importantly, you must maintain the highest level of confidentiality.

"On a day to day basis you will be involved in scheduling and organising private, social and business calendars, arranging all public appearances, arranging and securing travel arrangements, working on selected business projects and maintaining daily itineraries."
