A CHARITY boss has thanked North-East supporters for their outstanding efforts.
Ted Hill MBE, CEO of the British Folio Fellowship, visited the Sunderland and District branch today (Wednesday, August 19).
He toured an exhibition of polio memorabilia and met branch leaders.
Mr Hill also presented awards to three individuals who have made special contributions to the branch: Keith Whickham, a polio sufferer and branch member since 1955; Beth Walderon, a Sunderland University student who has produced a DVD of polio sufferer’s stories; and Steve Torgensen, from the branch’s accountants.
Mr Hill’s visit was hosted by Shirley Williams, the branch’s chairperson.
