TWO of the acrobatic aircraft which will be taking a starring role in next month’s Sunderland International Airshow have flown into the region.
The Tutor and Hawk aircraft, used by the RAF to train pilots, arrived at Newcastle Airport today ahead of their appearance at the annual air show.
The three-day event, the largest of its kind in Western Europe, gets underway on July 24.
Show director Sue Stanhope said: “There are only five weeks until the fun begins with the Friday evening’s programme of music, flying and fireworks.
“The free family fun continuous over the whole weekend with an action-packed display programme including crowd favourites as well as teams and aircraft displaying along the seafront for the very first time.
“Along with a very busy flying programme we also have fantastic ground displays, children’s activities, live music, fairgrounds and fireworks and we also have a few surprises up our sleeves too.”
