TWO men have been arrested in connection with a shooting on Tyneside.
John Mario Thompson, 29, and David Francis, 28, were arrested last night (WED) on suspicion of attempted murder after the shooting in the Byker area of Newcastle on May 30.
In the days after the shooting, police took the unusual step of releasing details of the two men wanted in connection with the Scarborough Road attack.
The victim, a 32-year-old man, was shot twice in the legs and also suffered a head injury.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.
As well as detaining the two suspects, Northumbria Police said they had also arrested a 42-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman on suspicion of assisting an offender.
All four are currently in custody.
