THREE teenagers remain in hospital today (Tuesday, May 19) after taking what is believed to be multiple sclerosis medication.

Three boys, aged 14, 15 and 16-years-old, were taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital on Sunday evening in a critical condition after taking tablets which were not prescribed for them.

Police said today that all three teenagers remain in hospital but are now in a stable condition.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: “It is believed the tablets were taken outdoors in a public place.

“Officers are currently carrying out searches to locate any outstanding tablets and appeal for anyone who may find tablets to contact police straight away."
