A FAMILY day of learning about climate change is planned for this weekend (Saturday, May 23).
The Ice and Climate event will include documentaries, sculptures, talks and hands-on activities.
Organised by Durham, Newcastle and Northumbria universities, it will be held in and around the Life Science Centre in Newcastle on Saturday, May 23 from 11am to 7pm.
Student organiser David Saddington said: “This year’s event aims to make climate change a topic people can understand by getting back to the basics of climate science and discussing what climate change actually means for people, business and energy in the North-East.
“Climate change is now an essential part of the national curriculum so this event is also a fun way for pupils and parents to do some revision of climate issues over the Bank Holiday weekend.”
Normal entry fees apply for the Life Science Centre. For more information, visit facebook.com/iceclimate
