FANS will not be allowed to queue outside the Stadium of Light ahead of the forthcoming Foo Fighters gig.

About 50,000 rock fans are expected at Monday’s show, but with construction work taking place at the stadium continuing until the day of the show, no queuing will be permitted in the days leading up to the concert.

External courtyards will open at 2pm on the day of the gig, with the main stadium gates opened at 4pm.

Support acts will take to the stage at 6pm, with the Foo Fighters due on at some point between 8pm and 8.30pm.

No items of food or drink will be allowed to be brought into the venue and all approach roads to the stadium site will be closed on show day to ensure the safety of the large numbers of pedestrians and there is no parking available at the stadium.

City centre car parks will remain open late on Monday evening after the show finishes at 11pm.

A small number of tickets are still available from the ticket hotline on 0191-551-5004.
