A FATHER-of-six accused of a raft of terror offences over his alleged support for Isis in Syria has been refused bail by a High Court judge.
Self employed businessman Mohammed Kahar, 37, from Burnville Road, Sunderland, appeared before the Old Bailey via video link from Wandsworth Prison.
He is accused of ten offences - five of disseminating terrorist publications, one of preparation of terrorist acts, two of supporting a proscribed organisation, one of financing terrorism and one of possession of a record likely to be useful for committing terrorism.
Mr Justice Saunders refused an application for bail during the hearing and remanded him in custody until a plea and case management hearing on September 4.
A trial lasting between four and six weeks was provisionally set for October 19 at a venue to be fixed either in London or Newcastle.
