THE region’s industrial and artistic heritage was on show as a former mining village hosted a display of colliery lodge banners.
Eppleton Miners’ Banner Group staged the one-day exhibition at Hetton and District Workingmen’s Club, Hetton-le-Hole, Wearside, on Saturday (April 18).
Many of the banners have been restored since their heyday when thousands of the North’s men spent their working lives underground.
The banners on show ranged from Horden on Durham’s east coast to Burnhope.
The day also featured musical entertainment from Murton Colliery Band.
