POLICE are appealing for information after a woman was raped on a North Sea ferry.
A Northumbria Police spokesman said officers were informed a 23-year-old woman had been raped on a ferry travelling from North Shields to Amsterdam, on Friday, April 10.
The incident happened in a cabin on the ferry between just after midnight and 3am Saturday, April 4. It's believed the woman was in the cabin with two men when she was attacked.
Inquiries are being carried out into the incident and anyone who was on the ferry and has information that could help with police enquiries is asked to come forward.
The woman had been speaking to a group of men on the ferry before the incident and officers are keen for them to get in contact.
Specially trained officers are working with the victim to offer her support.
Anyone with information should contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 quoting reference 953 100415 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
