A NEW SpongeBob SquarePants ride has been launched at the region's Life centre.
The children’s television character himself welcomed some of the first visitors to the SpongeBob SquarePants 4-D: The Great Jelly Rescue motion ride at the Life Science Centre in Newcastle.
The attraction takes guests on a ride with SpongeBob and friends.
Ian Simmons, the Centre’s director of science communication, said: “Our motion ride is a hugely popular experience among visitors and this new film will not disappoint – it’s packed full of thrills and adventure.”
The ride will be at the Centre until October 2.
Also over the Easter holidays, visitors to the attraction can try out DNA extraction, explore the night sky and learn about stem cells.
Entry to the Life centre costs £9.95 for adults, £7.95 for pensioners, students and the unwaged, £6.95 for children aged two to 17, free for under-twos and £27.80 for families of one adult and three children or two adults and two children.
