Body recovered
Police searching for missing a Gateshead man have this afternoon found a body.
Reports were received at 4pm from a member of the public that a man's body could be seen in the River Tyne at Dunston, Gateshead.
Officers attended and the body was recovered.
Enquiries are ongoing to formally identify the man.
The discovery follows reports of a man falling into the river from the Redheugh Bridge on December 17.
