SAFEGUARDING reports concerning a teenage girl found dead at a children’s home last December are expected to be handed over to a coroner next month.
Danielle Formosa, 14, of Nawton Avenue, Sunderland, died at the privately-run East Farmhouse Children’s Home in Consett, County Durham, on Tuesday, December 17.
At the time a Durham Police spokesman said there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Crook Civic Centre, in Crook, County Durham, shortly she died and a review of the case took place today (Tuesday, November 11).
Coroner’s officer PC Jacqueline Sirrell said the enquiry was ongoing, with Sunderland City Council examining safeguarding reports this week and a meeting scheduled to take place with Danielle’s family.
She added: “Everything is on track and the aim is for the reports to be here in December."
County Durham coroner Andrew Tweddle scheduled a further review for Monday, January 12.
