Man threatening to self-harm prompts police operation in Ashington
POLICE are trying to talk to a man who is threatening to harm himself inside a house in Northumberland.
"Police are dealing with an incident in Bowman Square in Ashington," said a spokesman for Northumbria Police. "A man is inside a property making threats to self harm. Officers are speaking with him. A cordon has been set up in the area while police try and resolve the situation peacefully. There is no risk to any members of the public."
It is understood there is no suggestion of any firearms being involved.
