A MAN has been arrested after an assault in the garden of a Tyneside house.
At 4.43pm on Wednesday (October 22) police received a report that a man and woman both aged in their 40s had been assaulted by another man and woman outside an address at Westbury Avenue, Newcastle.
The man suffered a cut to his head and the woman a suspected broken nose and they were treated for their injuries at hospital.
Officers attended and arrested a man aged 32 on suspicion of aggravated burglary. He is currently in custody helping with enquiries.
It's believed those involved are known to each other.
Northumbria Police are appealing for anyone who saw the assault, or who has information about what happened, to contact them on 101, extension 69191, quoting reference 769 22/10/14, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
