A CANNABIS farm has been discovered after police responded to reports of suspicious activity in the street.
More than 40 plants and equipment used in cannabis farming were discovered by officer at a property in Ryhope Road, Sunderland.
Police received a report of suspicious activity shortly after 1.30am today (TUES) and attended the scene where the drugs were found.
Police are now looking for the occupants of the house, which was empty at the time.
Sergeant Mark Thompson said: "Reporting suspicious activity is exactly the right thing to do and in this case officers made enquiries and recovered cannabis plants.
"These are drugs that will be destroyed and will not reach the streets".
