POLICE are appealing for information after a man was found injured in the street.
The 43-year-old was said to be in a serious but not life threatening condition in Sunderland Royal Hospital after being found by emergency services in Cairo Street, Hendon, in the city, shortly before 11pm on Friday (July 25).
Detective Sergeant Keith Jewitt said: “We believe there may have been an argument involving a group of men in the street at around the time of the incident.
“A blue van was also seen in the area, so we would encourage anyone who thinks they may have seen a vehicle of that description or who has any information to contact us.”
They are asked to ring Northumbria Police on 101, extension 69191 (quoting reference 1537 250714).
