A WOMAN badly injured after a lorry carrying three JCB-style vehicles shed its load remains in a critical condition today. (Monday, April 14)
The crash happened at aabout 11am yesterday when the lorry is thought to have hit a Metro bridge at Fellgate Estate, Jarrow, and two of the heavy duty machines toppled out.
The woman driving the car behind, believed to be in her 30s, then veered off the road crashing through a barrier on the left.
She was cut free from her car and immediately flown to Newcastle’s Royal Victoria Infirmary by air ambulance.
