A COMMUNITY group for men is looking to welcome new members.
Delves Lane Village Hall, near Consett, hosts sessions on Thursdays, from 1.30pm-3pm.
The group started when five local men approached the Wellbeing for Life service for support to set up a regular meeting space where they can chat on affairs that affect them and take part in activities and workshops.
Ages range from 30’s to the oldest member who is 92.
They have had a go at cooking, gardening and played games such as chess and cards, as well as attending talks on local history, diabetes and fraudsters.
Michelle Gibson, Wellbeing for Life co-ordinator, said “Community groups are important because they provide connection and mutual support. It helps reduce loneliness and isolation, but most importantly, its fun.”
