PLANS have been revealed for a 56-house development in a village.

Developer Keepmoat Homes have submitted an application to build an estate of family homes on behalf of the Durham Villages Regeneration Company in Dipton, near Stanley.

If approved, the estate would be on a six-acre site bordered by Palmer Road on one side and Plunkett Road on the other.

Part of the site is used as a small football pitch, while the rest is currently given over to grazing land.

Plans submitted to Durham County Council include five four-bedroom houses, 41 three-bedroom houses and 10 two-bedroom houses, along with a section of public open space and landscaping.
