PERFORMERS are gearing up for a rock festival which returns for the second tomorrow.

Stanley Burning Rock Festival takes place at the Stanley Community Football Centre on Tyne Road, Stanley, and gates will open at 1pm, with live music until 9pm.

The main stage sees live music from Lana and the Drivers, Whipfist, Heist 2-11, The Distorted, Counterfeit Youth, You Fooled Me and Connor Middleton.

Darren McMahon of organisers Stanley Events said: “We are once again looking forward to bringing this event to the Stanley community.

“The festival offers a family friendly day with a range of free activities for children as well as the best of local talent, the event promises to provide something for everyone.”

Connor Middleton who will play at the festival for the first time said: “I am extremely pleased and grateful for the opportunity to be involved with entertaining the Stanley community Last year I was in the audience, this year I’m part of the entertainment.”

Tickets bought on the day will cost £6. Children under 16 will get in free if accompanied by a paying adult.
