A MAN who has admitted attempting a knifepoint robbery at a village convenience store was told he is facing a prison sentence, with the only question as to the length.
The warning was given to Raymond Alexander Wilson after he pleaded guilty to charges of attempted robbery and threatening a person with a knife, relating to the incident at the News and Booze premises in New Kyo, near Stanley, on March 31.
Wilson, 33, of Welsh Terrace, Annfield Plain, near Stanley, made his admissions during a short video link appearance at Durham Crown Court, from the city’s nearby jail.
Adjourning sentence for preparation of both psychiatric and probation reports, Judge Christopher Prince told the defendant: “You will be sentenced on June 30.
“It’s only a question of how long it will be and whether, or not, it’s a determinate or indeterminate sentence.”
