A SUSPECTED burglar who was electronically tagged as part of his bail conditions is being hunted by police after disappearing from his home around a month ago.

Adam Barrass, 28, has allegedly breached the terms of a court curfew order as he is supposed to spend each night at Simpson Street in Stanley.

The order, imposed by magistrates’ sitting at Peterlee on November 16, stated he has to be indoors between 7pm and 7am.

Durham Constabulary said his whereabouts have been unknown since late December and have released his picture in a bid to track him down.

Detective Constable Malcolm Ord said: “Anyone who knows where Adam is should police and ask to speak to Stanley CID.”

Mr Barrass is due to stand trial at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on January 30 charged with burglary and criminal damage.

The offences relate to a break-in at a storage unit on West Road in Stanley overnight between October 4 and 5.
