A WOMAN has been taken to hospital suffering stab wounds after police were alerted to an incident in Stanley, earlier today.
Officers were called shortly before 4am to a domestic incident at a terraced house n Park Road, South Moor.
A 29-year-old local man is in custody and enquiries are continuing.
Durham Constabulary described the woman's injuries as non life threatening.
DCI Michael Callan, of The Major Crime Team, said: "Police attended an incident at Park Road in Stanley 6th August 2016, where a female had suffered stab wounds in a local domestic incident.
"A 29 year old local male is in custody and enquiries are continuing."
