A HOMELESS cat is recovering in the care of a charity after he was found with terrible injuries to his face.

The two-year-old moggy, who was found in South Stanley, was treated by vets who suspect he was attacked by a dog.

His wounds had also become infected so needed a course of drugs.

Now recovering from his ordeal, the stray has been named Oswald and is in need for a new home.

Helen Moore, volunteer foster co-ordinator for the Blue Cross pet charity, who are looking after him, said: “Poor Oswald was in a real state when he arrived with us.

“His attack must have been terrifying and his wounds were really sore.

“He is enjoying being pampered after his ordeal and we hope to find him the loving home he deserves really soon.”

Oswald is now fully recovered and looking for a home with outside space to explore. He is described as a ‘people lover who enjoys a fuss’.
