A MUSICIAN who bombarded a teenage girl with hundreds of abusive messages and posted 'revenge porn' of her online faces jail for behaving 'horrifically' to his victim.

Nineteen-year-old Matthew Woodhouse, travelled 270 miles to London from his home in County Durham to meet the girl in the hope of rekindling their failing relationship.

Woodhouse, who routinely travels to the US as a musician, had fallen in love with the teenager after meeting at a festival.

He was desperate to win her back but when she rejected his advances he assaulted her outside Tufnell Park tube station in London, telling her: "Well done, I am going to go and kill myself now."

He then set up a number of fake social media accounts in her name and sent a string of desperate and abusive emails between 19 June and 25 August this year.

Woodhouse, of Park Road, Stanley, later posted nude images of the girl on the internet after she asked him to stop.

Earlier prosecutor Rosalind Fox said: "Hundreds of emails were sent to the victim, he assaulted her, and we say it's a classic example of stalking.

"He threatened to expose various images, this is a man who will not be dissuaded from what he's doing."

Woodhouse admitted stalking, assault by beating and disclosing private, sexual films or photographs to cause distress last month.

He was due to be sentenced at Snaresbrook Crown Court but Judge Martyn Zeidman ordered psychiatric reports to be prepared and adjourned sentence until January 14.

Judge Zeidman told Woodhouse: "I am going to grant you bail but the fact that I am giving you bail is no indication as to the eventual sentence.

"You have behaved horrifically towards this poor woman – you have done the most terrible things"

Disclosing private sexual images to cause distress was only made illegal in February this year when Jason Asagba, 21, became the first person convicted of posting revenge porn on July 20 July.
