A MAN has admitted allowing his home to be used in the supply of ecstasy and amphetamines.

It follows the recovery of a quantity of the class A and B drugs, estimated to be worth between £1,200 and £1,400, when police visited the home of David Railton, in Stanley, County Durham, on September 12 last year.

Twenty-six-year-old Railton previously denied possessing the two drugs with intent to supply.

The case was adjourned for trial, but on the day that hearing was listed to start today (Wednesday November 11), new counts were put to him, of being the occupier at the address, in Broomhill, Stanley, permitting those premises to be used for the supply of class A and B drugs.

He pleaded ‘guilty’ to both counts, which was accepted by the prosecution, negating the need for a trial.

Dan Cordey, for Railton, said his client was aware of the likely outcome in the case and would not be seeking the preparation of pre-sentence reports.

But he accepted the forfeiture of £5,000 seized by police during the raid at the house.

Judge Simon Hickey ordered the forfeiture of the money, to be handed to Durham Police's financial investigation unit.

The judge remanded Railton back to custody, to be produced for sentence with co-accused Shane Norman Youll, on Friday (November 13).

Twenty-eight-year-old Youll, of Pine Street, Chester-le-Street, admitted possessing the ecstasy and amphetamines with intent to supply at the initial crown court hearing in the case, in June.
