A TALENTED brother and sister have each gained top exam results.

Last week, Harriet Dulson, of Burnopfield, near Stanley, gained two A* and one A in her A-levels, securing her a place to study medicine at Edinburgh University.

Yesterday (Thursday), her younger brother Finlay received his GCSE results – achieving ten A*s and an A** in further maths.

He will begin his A-levels at Dame Allan’s Sixth Form, Newcastle in September.

“I am so pleased. It’s a big relief and I’m excited to be starting the Dame Allan’s Sixth Form in September,” he said.

School principal John Hind said: “Harriet and Finlay have both achieved outstanding results and prove that hard work pays off.

“We are incredibly proud of them and know it’s just the start of great things for them both.

“We are proud of all of our pupils who have worked extremely hard to achieve impressive grades for the schools as a whole and for themselves as individuals.”
