ORGANISATIONS which provide care and support services are being invited to register for free with a new website.

The Locate website at www.durhamlocate.org.uk is a directory of services which promote wellbeing and offer information, advice and support to help people live independently.

Three sessions are being held this week when companies and community groups can find out more about signing up.

Sign-up sessions will take place on today (Monday, July 6) at the Greencroft Office in Woodland Court on Greencroft Industrial Estate, near Stanley and at Annfield Plain Library.

The Greencroft session takes place from 1pm to 3pm, but is by appointment only booked in advance on 03000 266 856. The Annfield Plain session is a drop-in between 3.30pm and 7pm.

A third session takes place at Consett Library on Thursday, July 9 between 2pm and 6.30pm and anyone interested can drop-in for information.

Lesley Jeavons, Durham County Council’s head of adult care, said: “Locate will play a key role in providing essential information and advice to help people make informed choices and decisions about their care and support.

“The sign-up sessions will offer organisations which provide that help and support the chance to ensure they are listed on this valuable resource.”
