PEOPLE can choose which 1950s semi will be built at Beamish Museum.

The popular open air attraction at Stanley, County Durham, to create a town from the rock ‘n’ roll decade

Nine current or former council houses have been nominated to be replicated in the development.

Voting takes place at the museum and online from tomorrow

(Saturday, March 28) and Monday (March 30)

Geraldine Straker, Remaking Beamish Project Officer, said: “Thanks to everyone who nominated their 1950s house. We’ve got nine fantastic finalists to choose from, each with a unique and wonderful story.We’re delighted to be giving people the chance to vote for their favourite and decide which house should be included in our plans for the 1950s Town.

“Voters certainly face a difficult decision. We can’t wait to find out which house they choose!”
