BAROQUE music performers have completed a tour of shows in antiques shops.

Recorder player Rosanna Whitton, of Tantobie, near Stanley, and cellist Penny Callow said they enjoyed performing pieces by Bach and Vivaldi in unusual places.

Ms Whitton, a former Royal Academy of Music student, said traders in Corbridge, Harrogate, Carlisle and Thirsk had welcomed them as it helped recreate the atmosphere of when the antiques were made.

She added: "With these shows I have combined everything that makes me smile."

Victoria McEvoy, of Three Tuns Antiques, in Thirsk, said she had been delighted to welcome the pair, saying their visit had generated interest from customers.
