A SCHOOL in Stanley is appealing for donations of books.
North Durham Academy is holding a Book Drive during April and May.
The aim is for pupils to have access to as many engaging, inspiring and thought provoking books as possible.
Marketing manager Charlotte Handy said: “To fulfil this aim we are asking our local community to support our book drive by dropping off any new and used books at the academy.
“We are looking for books suitable for young adults, teens and reading ages of seven to 11 years old.
“Over the next few months we will be looking for, searching, gathering and sifting through donations from staff, students and the community of used books.
“We aim to have dedicated reading areas available for anyone within the academy to read and access at any time, to take reading beyond the classroom and the library.”
The academy is asking for donations of good quality used books to be dropped off at the main reception to help fulfil the vision.
