A DRIVER was cut free from a lorry after it overturned on the A19.
Emergency services were called to the northbound dual carriageway at Seaton, near Seaham in County Durham, at 8.40pm on Wednesday.
The man suffered multiple injuries in the crash and was freed by County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service.
He was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital for treatment.
A fire service spokesman said: “The incident involved a van leaving the road with one male adult trapped inside.
“Our crews have extricated the man and he was taken to Sunderland Royal suffering multiple injuries.”
Durham Constabulary said no vehicles other than the Luton lorry was involved in the crash.
A spokesman said: “Paramedics also attended and took the male driver to Sunderland Royal Hospital with minor injuries. He was discharged later that night.”
