POLICE have asked for help in identifying who is responsible for causing damage to flowerbeds in a community park.

For the fourth time in less than a month, damage has been caused to the Memorial Park in Horden, near Peterlee.

The latest incident happened when a bike appears to have been ridden through flowerbeds between 4.30pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.

PC Paul Vickers said: “On the face of it, this may not appear the most serious of crimes, but it is causing a lot of upset to the community.

“This is now also the fourth time in less than a month such damage has occurred and it is very disheartening to those who tend to this area.”

Anyone with information should contact Durham Police on 101 quoting incident number 55 of June 30.
