OVERNIGHT resurfacing work is to take place on a major road.
Roadworks will start on Burnhope Way in Peterlee on Thursday and will continue until Friday, July 7 with work taking place from 8pm to 6am each night.
The first phase of work will last until July 1 and will involve the section of the road from the junction with Passfield Way roundabout in a westerly direction past its junction with Neville Road.
The second phase will see resurfacing on the Burnhope Way/Essington Way roundabout starting on July 2.
A diversion will be in place via Bede Way, St Cuthberts Road and Surtees Road.
John Reed, Durham County Council’s head of technical services, said: “We appreciate there will be some disruption to motorists but we have planned the projects to ensure this is kept to a minimum”.
