FIREFIGHTERS have extinguished a blaze at a factory unit on an industrial estate in Peterlee.
A County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said a fire was reported at a unit on the North East Industrial Estate at 11.45am today.
Two appliances from Peterlee attended the scene and requested the help of a further appliance from Seaham, as well as an aerial ladder platform. Two jets and two breathing apparatus were used to extinguish the fire.
Firefighters remain at the scene damping down hotspots.
The extent of the damage has yet to be assessed.
