A MAN carrying a handgun escaped with cash after holding up a store in Peterlee.
The incident happened on Friday, February 17 between 5.15pm and 5.20pm at Oddies store in York Road.
"He threatened the female member of staff with what looked like a silver handgun, it is not known if the weapon was real," said a spokesman for Peterlee Police.
"The man demanded money from the till and the member of staff was forced to hand over approximately £200. He then grabbed the cash and ran from the store."
The suspect was wearing dark clothing and had a scarf covering his face.
Police enquiries have been ongoing since the incident and detectives have released the images seen here.
