OFFICERS used special tactics to stop a vehicle on Sunday evening after reports the driver was wanted for serious offences by Northumbria Police.
Cleveland and Durham Road Policing Unit officers pursued the vehicle on the A19 northbound and used special stop tactics, Tpac, to box the vehicle in and bring the pursuit to an end.
The driver attempted to evade officers after being boxed in, resulting in minor damage to a police BMW X5, but the vehicle lost control and hit the central reservation.
The man was arrested for driving offences and the outstanding offences he is suspected of carrying out in the Northumbria Police area.
