A MAN was treated for smoke inhalation after a house fire.
Emergency services were called to Ninth Street in Horden, near Peterlee, just after 4am on Saturday.
The casualty was treated at the scene by paramedics, while firefighters used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to tackle the blaze.
Two fire crews from Peterlee and one from Wheatley Hill attended following reports the people may be trapped inside the property but that turned out not to be the case.
