A VILLAGE road is to be closed at the weekend while resurfacing work takes place.
Work will take place on the B1280 Salters Lane in Shotton Colliery starting on Saturday, September 10 and continue the following day.
Work will take place between the junction with Durham Lane by the Blue House pub, to the roundabout with Station Road and Sorrell Close.
The stretch of the road will be closed to all traffic from 7am to 7pm both days, with signposted diversions in place.
John Reed, from Durham County Council, said: “This work is part of our ongoing programme to maintain the road network across the county, for the benefit of all users.
“We are doing all we can to minimise disruption and we thank motorists in advance for their patience while it is being done.”
