COLLEGE staff and students raised more than £700 for charity with a series of blindfold events.
Volunteers from East Durham College took part in visually-impaired bricklaying, blindfolded boxing and football competitions and blindfolded beard trims and beauty treatments using mannequins.
Events were led by barbering lecturer Alison Scattergood, from Peterlee, who was successfully treated for a rare eye cancer when she was a baby.
The fundraising brought in £730 for the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust .
Ms Scattergood said: “We are really proud to raise this fantastic total.
“All the teams at the college have been brilliant, and I have to say a massive thank you for all their help and support.
“There was a real community spirit around college”.
