FIREFIGHTERS were called out this morning to tackle a blaze at a commercial premises and flat in east Durham.
A spokesman for the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said the alarm was raised to a fire a Alexandra Terrace, in Wheatley Hill, at about 7.45am.
On arrival firefighters found a blaze had taken hold in commercial premises and first floor flat on the end-terrace property.
Two appliances from Peterlee and one appliance from Wheatley Hill attended the fire.
Two hose reels and two breathing apparatus, as well as a water jet were used to extinguish the flames.
No-one was injured.
