THE FUNERAL service of a teenager who died at the T in the Park music festival will be held on Tuesday (July 19).

Megan Bell, 17, of Seaham, County Durham, was one of two teenagers who died at the festival site in Perthshire, Scotland on Thursday, July 7, before any of the acts had taken to the stage for the three-day event.

Her funeral will be held at St Mary Magdalen Church at 11.30am on Tuesday, followed by interment in Seaham Cemetery.

The funeral service follows an outpouring of grief at a seafront vigil in Seaham on Thursday night. The sky filled with blue and white balloons - Megan’s favourite colours - while candles were also lit in her memory.

Megan, a former pupil of St Anthony’s Catholic Girls’ Academy, died days before she was to start her dream job as a hairdresser.

She is survived by parents Christopher and Lisa and siblings Josh, Maddy and Jenny.

Peter McCallum, also 17, of Lochgilphead, Argyll, also died in a separate incident at the festival. Police are not treating either death as suspicious.
