A MAN is to stand trial next year for indecency charges relating to two teenage women.
Maurice William McShane is charged with five counts of sexual activity with a girl aged under 16, dating from 2006, plus two offences of sexual assault on a woman aged above 16, said to have taken place in late 2013 and early last year.
Appearing at a plea hearing at Durham Crown Cour, he denied all seven charges.
The case was adjourned for a trial at the court, estimated to run for between three and four days.
Recorder Tim Roberts QC bailed the 53-year-old defendant, of Ambleside Avenue, Seaham, County Durham, to return for the start of the trial, on February 1.
