Scooter rider taken to hospital after he was trapped beneath a car in Horden
A SCOOTER rider had to be freed by firefighters after he became trapped beneath a car following an accident tonight.
It happened on the A1086 Sunderland Road in Horden at 8.50pm which resulted in its complete closure between Warren Street and Handley Street junctions.
The injured man was released using cutting equipment and was taken to the University of North Tees Hospital, Stockton, by ambulance at at 9.45pm. Details of his injuries are not known.
Two fire crews from Peterlee attended the incident.
