A GROUP of jugglers are hoping to catch some new recruits with a series of sessions for beginners.

Durham City Jugglers is on the look-out for new members and have organised a short course of informal taster sessions so beginners can try their hand at the hobby.

The group holds a weekly meeting at the Shakespeare Hall in North Road Durham every Tuesday at 7.30pm.

For six weeks, starting on September 15, members will offer newcomers sessions in juggling, unicycling and other circus skills, to beginners and those with limited experience.

A spokesman for the group said: “There is no need to book, just turn up and have a go. Equipment will be available to borrow”.

The cost is £2.50 per session for adults and £1 for under-18s, with the first week being free.

New members will also be able to attend the annual Durham Juggling and Circus Festival, which takes place over three days starting on October 2 at Wolsingham School.

The festival includes shows and workshops and is run in conjunction with other circus skills groups across the North-East.
