EAST Durham College has unveiled a new free bus offer for students.

From this September, college students will be able to use Arriva buses to get to college and home again free of charge.

The college has teamed up with the transport company to offer all its students a free and convenient bus services across the North-East.

Students will simply need to show their valid college ID badge to get on on any Arriva bus during term-time, until 9pm from Monday to Friday.

The deal will mean students do not have to hang about after lessons waiting for a late afternoon college-chartered bus to get home.

Arriva offers a comprehensive timetable for services around the region making the college campuses in Peterlee and Durham easily accessible to students around the north east.

This offer is available to all students, whether full or part-time.

Suzanne Duncan, principal at East Durham College, said: “It really is great to have this opportunity to offer our students free travel with Arriva throughout the North-East.

“Having the option to use the Arriva bus services for free throughout the region will give students greater access from home to our campuses and back again throughout the day.”
