ART and design students have set up their own gallery to display collections of work they have put together throughout the year.

Part of East Durham College’s Peterlee Campus atrium has been converted into a mini gallery to showcase the students’ portfolios put together during their time at the College.

The display has been created for students’ families, friends and also members of the public to come in and view.

Art lecturer Andrew Rolfe believes this is a great way to round off the year and a fantastic opportunity to show the extremely high standard of work produced by the students in the College’s art and design department.

He said: “It’s great to have this opportunity to showcase the wide array of work our students have been putting together whilst studying at East Durham College.

“The students have loved the opportunity to display their own original pieces and ideas on a larger scale in the College atrium, and it is a fantastic opportunity for people to come in and see the top quality work produced here at East Durham College.

“We encourage anyone who is interested in joining a college art course to come and take a look around our mini gallery, or anyone who just has an interest in art to come and check out the displays.”
