A MAN from Peterlee was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving after he was spotted reportedly driving erratically in York city centre.
He was driving a Vauxhall Vivaro when he was stopped in Tower Street at around 9.20pm on Tuesday.
Police said on twitter that he gave a breathalyser reading of 71 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath at the roadside, and a North Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said his official reading was 80. The legal limit is 35.
The man, who is 30, remains in police custody.
