A FUNERAL director is appealing for people to donate chocolate treats to help make Easter eggstra special for the region’s elderly.
Speckmans Funeral Service, in Front Street, Wingate, County Durham, is collecting donations of chocolate eggs, which will be delivered to elderly and vulnerable people in care homes across the region.
Collections are also being taken at John Meynell Funeral Service in North Road, Darlington, and Stephenson Way, Newton Aycliffe, as well as Relph and Teesside Funeral Service, in Station Road, Billingham.
Manager Amanda Conway said: “We thought it would be good to see how many eggs we could collect for people in care homes who don’t have anybody at this time of the year.
“We will deliver them to care homes across the region.”
